Portus Fabri · Where history and enjoyment come together
When the halls still flowed quietly through the countryside, a blacksmith settled on its shore. Wood from the surrounding forests and the nearby mining gave him work – accompanied by the sound of hammer and anvil.
According to legend, goblins and mountain spirits became aware of the hammering and the far-flying sparks. Reverently, they thought the forge was a gateway to another world.
This is how the name Portenschmiede came about. The old forge disappeared when the hall became the Lake Hohenwarte – but the history of the place remained.
Today, the Schmiedehafen stands here: a place to arrive, enjoy and be together. Where once iron was worked with passion, today food and special moments are created with the same devotion.
“Here I will build my forge.”
