How many people can attend a Christmas party?

Your Christmas party takes place inside the restaurant, with room for up to 40 guests. We plan buffets for 15 or more; smaller teams can discuss an individual dining format. The summer terrace does not provide extra indoor capacity for a winter celebration.

How do you prepare an offer for our company Christmas party?

Send us your guest count, preferred date and, if possible, an overall budget. We agree the food, drinks and service around your evening. Any requested exclusive use or minimum spend is stated explicitly in your individual offer.

Can we stay together after the meal?

Please discuss your preferred finishing time while planning. Restaurant events have a service charge of €150 per started hour from 21:30. We agree the event hours alongside the other services in your offer.

How do we include vegetarian preferences or allergies in our team?

Include the numbers of vegetarian and vegan guests and any known intolerances in your enquiry. The kitchen reviews suitable dishes personally. Receiving these details early helps us plan the food and purchasing around your group.

When should we enquire and plan our journey?

For the Christmas season, enquire early with a preferred date and an alternative. We are on Campingplatz Portenschmiede below Wilhelmsdorf. Plan your arrival and journey home in advance; the celebration is agreed once we confirm it personally. Directions and parking .

On 31 December 2026 and 1 January 2027, Schmiedehafen serves cheese fondue, as a Classic or Gourmet package. We are open from 11 am to 2 pm on both days.

We keep the turn of the year simple: on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Schmiedehafen serves cheese fondue only. Choose the Classic or the Gourmet package and share a relaxed lunch around the pot, right by Hohenwarte Lake.

Location

Schmiedehafen is on the Portenschmiede campsite below Wilhelmsdorf, right on Hohenwartestausee. You do not need to stay at the campsite to visit us.

Parking

Drive through the campsite barrier and park either by the reception or straight on below the restaurant; the parking areas are signposted. We subsidise parking for Schmiedehafen guests; our page on getting here and parking explains how it works.

When are you open at the turn of the year?

On 31 December 2026 and 1 January 2027, from 11 am to 2 pm. The restaurant is closed on Christmas Eve, and we are on holiday from 2 to 13 January 2027.
